Swami Hamsananda
Inspired by Parama Pujya Gurudev Swami Chinmayanandaji, a youngster joined and served Chinmaya Mission for over two decades. From the eager Brahmachari at the Vedanta Course at Sandeepany Sadhanalaya, studying the scriptures under the able guidance of Pujya Swami Chidananda to serving as the Acharya at various centres in Chinmaya Mission, Karnataka under the meticulous guidance of Pujya Swami Brahmananda, this youngster metamorphosed into Swami Hamsananda as we know him today.
He believes in a life turned inwards in study and outwards in service, and he exhorts all of us to do the same. On the same count, he also emphasises the importance of simplicity in thought, word and deed. He explains subtle spiritual concepts in a language that can be understood even by beginners. His ability to efficiently blend in the concepts of Bhakti and Jnana in his talks draws a wide variety of Sadhakas.
Be it Vedic chanting or Bhajans, the bhava with which he sings makes it soul-stirring. Little wonder then that his Bhajans are enjoyed and remembered by many for long.
He is of the firm belief that the society of tomorrow is entirely dependent on the children and youth of today and hence, they require proper guidance. His cheerful disposition and infectious enthusiasm brings a lot of youngsters close to him. However, he is also a strict disciplinarian when required.
His dynamism is unmistakable and by harnessing the potential within individuals, he has brought many onto the path of spirituality through study and service. A master organiser, involving himself in all activities ā be it a small area activity or a massive project ā he can be seen working tirelessly and yet, maintaining the smile and serenity for which he is very well known.
Himself, aĀ seeker in pursuit of Truth, Swami Hamsananda, intends to share his knowledge and observations through the forum of Sadhana Mandira, established at the Heritage City ā Mysuru, on Vijayadashami, 11th October, 2016.
